HiTalent is proud to be partnering with SEARMS to find a Caseworker for their Women and Children’s Domestic & Family Violence (DFV) Core & Cluster Program. This is a rare opportunity to join a newly established culturally safe, trauma-informed service supporting women and children from Aboriginal and diverse cultural backgrounds in crisis accommodation across the Eurobodalla region.

Are you a passionate caseworker with experience supporting Aboriginal communities and a passion for trauma-informed care?

This role is central to the delivery of SEARMS’ Women and Children’s Domestic and Family Violence Core & Cluster Program, a culturally safe and trauma-informed crisis accommodation service. You will support single women with or without children who are at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness due to domestic and family violence, including but not limited to people sleeping rough, through intensive case management and assertive outreach.

As the Caseworker, you will:

  • Deliver individual casework and safety planning to families who been referred to the service.

  • Deliver group programs and therapeutic programs to children and/or families that have been referred to the service

  • Undertake client assessments for families referred for Domestic and Family Violence Support.

  • Accurately record and maintain client records on data recording systems.

  • Provide crisis support, safety planning and referrals to families if assessed as required.

  • Work collaboratively with relevant external services to ensure best outcomes for clients.

  • Follow mandatory child protection guidelines to report risk of significant harm concerns about if any concerns about a child or young person are identified during contact with clients.

  • Contribute to reports on program progress, statistics and outcomes of SHS Program when required.

  • Generalist outreach services to women and their children in the community affected by domestic and family violence or homelessness

  • Assess client suitability for the service, ensuring a culturally sensitive approach that reflects the needs of Aboriginal individuals and families

  • Participate in the on call roster

Essential:

  • Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or similar

  • Understanding of Aboriginal culture, kinship, and community dynamics

  • Knowledge of DFV frameworks, legal systems, and SHS/Core & Cluster models

  • A commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed practice

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Full driver’s licence, WWCC, Police Check, and First Aid

Desirable:

  • Identifies as Aboriginal

  • Experience working in an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation

  • Familiarity with WHS, EEO, ASES, and NRSCH standards
