HiTalent Recruitment is partnering with a highly respected not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting victim-survivors of sexual violence and driving meaningful social change through trauma-informed practice. We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Adult Education Officer (Link Worker) to join their team on a full-time fixed-term contract through to December 2026.

Are you an experienced Social Worker, Counsellor or Psychologist with a passion for education, stakeholder engagement and community impact? Do you thrive in delivering trauma-informed training and building strong relationships across the healthcare sector?

In this role, you will work closely with general practices and allied health providers across Canberra to strengthen awareness, understanding, and responses to sexual violence and child sexual abuse within primary healthcare settings.

Reporting to the Director – Communications, Education and Policy, your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with general practices, medical professionals, and allied health providers across the ACT.
  • Scheduling and coordinating training sessions, stakeholder meetings, and practice visits.
  • Delivering engaging and accredited training programs to adult professional audiences on sexual violence, child sexual abuse, and trauma-informed responses.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to tailor training and educational resources.
  • Supporting the healthcare sector to improve recognition, response, referral pathways, and support for victim-survivors.
  • Preparing training materials, coordinating logistics, and arranging resources required for sessions.
  • Collecting, monitoring, and reporting data using CRM systems and Excel templates in line with privacy and organisational requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities for sustainable improvements within primary healthcare responses to victim-survivors.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
  • A qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in adult education, facilitation, training delivery, or workforce development.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A sound understanding of trauma-informed practice and supporting vulnerable communities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while fostering respectful and professional relationships.
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration or ability to obtain.
  • The successful candidate must be flexible to deliver training sessions outside standard business hours where required, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.

Benefits include:

  • Opportunity to work within a highly respected and purpose-driven organisation.
  • Meaningful work supporting social impact and community education.
  • Flexible and autonomous working environment.
  • Professional development and training opportunities.
  • Travel reimbursement for work-related travel across Canberra.

If you are passionate about education, advocacy, and supporting safer communities through trauma-informed practice, we would love to hear from you.
