HiTalent Recruitment is partnering with a respected community-based organisation to recruit an experienced Crisis Social Worker to join their specialist Domestic and Family Violence team in Canberra.

This position operates on a rotating roster across seven days per week, with shifts scheduled between 7:00am and 11:00pm, offering variety and the opportunity to support clients when they need it most.

As a Crisis Social Worker, you will provide immediate crisis intervention, risk assessment, case management, advocacy, and support services to adults, children, and young people experiencing domestic and family violence and other complex circumstances.
Working within a trauma-informed and client-centred framework, you will support individuals through periods of crisis while helping them access services, develop safety plans, and navigate legal, housing, health, and community support systems.
You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clients receive timely, holistic, and effective support while contributing to positive client outcomes.
Conduct crisis assessments, risk assessments, and safety planning
Provide immediate crisis intervention and ongoing case management support
Deliver trauma-informed support, advocacy, and referrals
Support clients to navigate legal, housing, health, and community services
Develop, implement, and review client support plans
Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and client documentation
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
Participate in a rotating roster across seven days per week
Degree qualification in Social Work
Experience working in crisis intervention, family violence, homelessness, child and family services, or related community services
Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and client-centred practice
Experience conducting risk assessments and safety planning
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report-writing skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Current Driver's Licence and Australian working rights
Experience within domestic and family violence services
Knowledge of the ACT community services sector
Experience working with vulnerable individuals and families experiencing complex needs
Experience working within crisis response or after-hours support services
This service operates 7 days per week, with rostered shifts between 7:00am and 11:00pm.
Successful candidates must be available to participate in a rotating roster, including:
Morning shifts
Afternoon shifts
Evening shifts
Weekend work as required
Penalty rates and applicable loadings apply in accordance with the relevant award or enterprise agreement.
