This Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation is seeking dedicated individuals for Identified roles that empower Aboriginal families and ensure the wellbeing of children in care.
We are seeking Identified OOHC Caseworkers to provide culturally safe and responsive services, strengthen community connections, and deliver holistic support for Aboriginal children and young people. If you have a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community, and the challenges facing families, we encourage you to express your interest in a confidential conversation.
Manage allocated OOHC caseloads under the guidance of the Program Manager, ensuring consistent oversight and quality support.
Conduct regular reviews of children in care, ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational requirements.
Prepare children and young people for placements, supporting them through transitions and ensuring stability in permanent care arrangements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case documentation, including case notes, home visit records, and database updates, in line with policies and procedures.
Provide direct support to foster and kinship carers, including supervision, guidance, and problem-solving support.
Coordinate safe and meaningful family contact arrangements for children in care.
Draft and prepare high-quality reports, including formal court documentation when required.
Identify and source appropriate referrals and support services to meet the needs of children and young people in OOHC.

Experience or qualifications in OOHC, child protection, family support, casework, or community services.
Strong cultural knowledge and connection to Aboriginal communities.
A commitment to cultural safety and trauma-informed practice.
Excellent communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
