HiTalent Recruitment is seeking a Team Leader to join a well-respected and reputable not-for-profit organisation in Newcastle that offers recovery-oriented support to individuals living with mental health concerns. The service aims to support people to reach their own goals which may include employment, tenancy maintenance, physical health and mental health improvements.

Are you a skilled mental health Leader with a desire to support and guide a team of Mental Health Support Workers?

In this role, 
you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program, and leading their team to deliver an efficient, effective and best practice service to consumers. You will manage relationships with partner organisations, and coordinate referrals for the best outcomes.

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership, consultation, and expertise to teams in the delivery of specialist mental health support to consumers.

  • With senior staff, develop strategies for monitoring and improvement of service provision and evaluation.

  • Providing leadership and support to staff in relation to appropriate data collection in line with best practice, funding body KPIs, organisational priorities, and policy requirements.

  • Assist in preparing funding body or management reports on program outcomes, with relevant evidence and data as required.

  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate and timely clinical records and active participation in the clinical review handover processes.

  • Provide direct line management and support to team members to help facilitate their effectiveness in their roles.

  • Provide support and guidance to team members in relation to management of any client or program issues.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the model of care relevant to the service.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in health sciences, social sciences, or demonstrated industry experience with Certificate 4 in Mental Health, Community Services or Case Management
  • Previous experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current drivers’ license
  • Willing to undergo National Criminal Record Check
