HiTalent Recruitment is partnering with a highly respected, community-focused organisation to recruit a dedicated Youth Care Coordinator / Provisional Psychologist to support the mental health and wellbeing of young people aged 12–25 across Tamworth.

About the Role
As the Youth Care Coordinator, you will provide therapeutic support, early intervention, and care coordination for young people experiencing a range of mental health and psychosocial challenges. Working as part of a skilled clinical team, you will deliver assessments, develop care plans, and provide both brief and longer-term interventions to support positive outcomes.
This role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct youth-focused assessments and care planning (including HEADSS) using a strengths-based and recovery-oriented framework.
Provide individual counselling, brief interventions, and evidence-based therapeutic support.
Formulate and deliver treatment plans tailored to developmental stage, risk factors, and personal goals.
Work creatively and assertively to engage young people from diverse backgrounds, including First Nations, CALD, and LGBTIQA+ communities.
Deliver group programs that promote social connection, wellbeing, and early intervention.
Collaborate with families, carers, schools, health providers, and community agencies to support coordinated care.
Identify risks and manage safety concerns in consultation with the clinical team.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation, risk assessments, and data reporting requirements.
Build relationships with schools, youth networks, and community stakeholders to promote access to services.
Participate in supervision, reflective practice, team development, and service improvement initiatives.
About You
You are passionate about youth mental health and enjoy working in a collaborative, client-centred environment. You bring empathy, initiative, and a willingness to grow your clinical skills.
Essential Criteria
Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Counselling, or relevant Allied Health field
(Provisional Psychologists encouraged to apply)
