HiTalent Recruitment is partnering with a respected Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation to recruit an experienced Redress Case Worker to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander survivors engaging with the National Redress Scheme.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a culturally safe, survivor-led organisation dedicated to healing, truth-telling and supporting Stolen Generations survivors, their families and communities.

Working within a specialist Redress Support Service, you will provide culturally responsive case management, advocacy and support to Aboriginal survivors throughout their National Redress journey while collaborating with trauma specialists, community organisations and key stakeholders to improve access to vital services.

About the Role

As a Redress Case Worker, you will provide culturally safe, trauma-informed case management to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander survivors seeking support through the National Redress Scheme.

Working within a specialist support team, you will undertake intake and assessments, develop individualised support plans, coordinate referrals to trauma specialist counsellors, and advocate for clients throughout the Redress process.

You will also build strong partnerships with community organisations, correctional facilities, specialist services and government agencies to improve awareness, access and outcomes for Aboriginal survivors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide intake, assessment and case management for eligible clients.

  • Support Aboriginal survivors through the National Redress Scheme.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialist trauma counselling services.
  • Develop and maintain culturally safe, trauma-informed support plans.
  • Advocate for clients and support engagement with external services.
  • Build relationships with community organisations and key stakeholders.
  • Represent the organisation within community and professional networks.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reports and client records.
  • Support safe practice while managing the impacts of vicarious trauma.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person (Identified Position under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).
  • Certificate IV in Community Services or a related qualification, or significant experience in case management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal children, families and communities.
  • Experience providing case management and developing support plans.
  • Strong communication, advocacy and report-writing skills.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence.
  • NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).

Highly Regarded

  • Experience supporting survivors of trauma, abuse or the Stolen Generations.
  • Knowledge of the National Redress Scheme.
  • Experience working within Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
  • Experience using Flowlogic or other case management systems.

Roster & Working Hours

This is a full-time fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027, based in Waterloo, Sydney.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (38 hours per week).
