HiTalent Recruitment is seeking an Aboriginal Caseworker to join a highly regarded and reputable not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting people living with mental health and wellbeing challenges. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
Are you a passionate and culturally aware Case Manager with experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities? Do you thrive in delivering person-centred, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges and complex social needs?
In this position, you will provide culturally safe case management, psychosocial support, advocacy, and service coordination to First Nations consumers.
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for:
Providing culturally appropriate and individualised case management support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers.
Supporting individuals experiencing homelessness or unstable housing to access and maintain long-term housing outcomes.
Building strong relationships with community organisations, health services, and external stakeholders to provide holistic wrap-around support.
Conducting assessments, referrals, care planning, and ongoing support in line with recovery-oriented practice.
Advocating for consumers and supporting access to integrated health, housing, and wellbeing services.
Maintaining accurate case notes, documentation, and reports in line with organisational and compliance requirements.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and promoting best practice service delivery.
Upholding organisational values while fostering culturally safe and inclusive support environments.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Identification as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. This is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth).
Experience working within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and a strong understanding of cultural safety, kinship systems, and social and emotional wellbeing.
A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Human Services, or relevant experience within a similar setting.
Experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, trauma, or complex needs.
Current Working with Children Check, National Criminal History Check, Australian Driver’s Licence, and Australian working rights.
