About the Role

As an RPRP Support Worker, you will provide family support, parenting education, case management, supported playgroups, peer support programs, school readiness activities, and community-based initiatives for parents and carers of children aged 0-12 years.

Working within a strengths-based and family-centred framework, you will support families to build resilience, strengthen parenting skills, improve wellbeing, and enhance connections within their local communities.

You will work collaboratively with schools, community organisations, health services, and other stakeholders to ensure families receive coordinated and holistic support tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide case management and family support services to parents, carers, and children

  • Deliver parenting education and parenting skills programs
  • Facilitate supported parent groups, playgroups, and school readiness programs
  • Coordinate community events and engagement activities
  • Conduct outreach and community development activities across the service region
  • Support families experiencing complex needs through care coordination and referrals
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders and service providers
  • Assist participants to build confidence, resilience, and social connections
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and program documentation
  • Ensure participant services are integrated with other community supports
  • Contribute to program evaluation, quality improvement, and service development initiatives

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Welfare, Human Services, Early Childhood, Psychology, Counselling, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Experience working with families, children, and parents experiencing complex needs
  • Experience in case management, family support, program delivery, or community services
  • Experience facilitating groups, educational programs, or community activities
  • Strong understanding of strengths-based and family-centred practice
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities
  • Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout the region
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Australian working rights

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and parenting support frameworks
  • Community development and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Experience delivering parenting programs, supported playgroups, or school readiness initiatives

Roster & Working Hours

Flexible full-time or part-time opportunities available.

This role is based across:

  • Walgett
  • Moree

Regular travel throughout the service area is required, with occasional overnight stays as needed.
