HiTalent Recruitment is partnering with a respected not-for-profit community organisation to recruit an experienced Clinical Team Leader to lead a specialist counselling team supporting individuals impacted by trauma and sexual violence.

About the Role

As the Clinical Team Leader, you will provide day-to-day leadership of a specialist counselling team delivering trauma-informed therapeutic services.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide clinical supervision, mentor clinicians, facilitate reflective practice, contribute to service development and support the delivery of high-quality, client-centred care.

You will also maintain a small clinical caseload where required while providing after-hours clinical leadership and consultation as part of the on-call roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and leadership to a team of counsellors.

  • Support the delivery of high-quality trauma-informed therapeutic services.

  • Facilitate clinical review, reflective practice and peer supervision.

  • Support staff development through coaching and performance feedback.

  • Maintain a small clinical caseload where required.

  • Provide after-hours clinical consultation and operational support.

  • Contribute to policy development, quality improvement and service planning.

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Monitor service quality and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling (or recognised equivalent).

  • Registration or eligibility for professional registration (AHPRA, AASW, ACA or PACFA where applicable).

  • Demonstrated experience providing trauma-informed therapeutic interventions.

  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring or leading a clinical team.

  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred practice.

  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Current ACT Working With Vulnerable People Registration.

  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working within sexual violence, domestic and family violence, crisis or community mental health services.

  • Experience in clinical governance, program development and quality improvement.

  • Experience managing complex risk presentations and providing clinical consultation.

Roster & Working Hours

  • This is a permanent full-time position based in Canberra, ACT.
  • The role includes participation in an after-hours roster and occasional evening and weekend work as required.
