Mental Health Nurse – Neami National | Alice Springs

• Location: Alice Springs, NT
• Working within a Medicare Mental Health Centre
• Provide accessible, person-centred mental health support to people experiencing distress or mental health concerns.
• Complete mental health assessments, risk assessments and safety planning.
• Provide clinical interventions, brief interventions and crisis support.
• Monitor consumers’ mental health presentation and identify changes in clinical risk or support needs.
• Provide mental health education and support around medication, wellbeing and recovery within nursing scope of practice.
• Develop and review individual care and recovery plans.
• Support people with complex and co-occurring mental health needs, including AOD where relevant.
• Coordinate referrals and connect consumers with appropriate health, mental health and community services.
• Liaise with GPs, hospitals, psychiatrists and other service providers to support continuity of care.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside the Clinical Lead, Clinicians, Peer Workers and other Mental Health Nurses.
• Provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented and culturally safe care, including working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Maintain clinical documentation, case notes and reporting requirements.
• Participate in clinical supervision, case reviews and team meetings.
• AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse required.
• Mental health/community mental health experience highly desirable.
• Strong assessment, crisis response, de-escalation and stakeholder engagement skills.
